Getting Around
Taniti City is fairly flat, highly walkable, and easy to navigate.
Public Buses
Serve Taniti City daily from 5:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Private buses serve the rest of the island.

Readily available throughout Taniti City to get you to your destination quickly.
Rental Cars
Available from a local rental agency conveniently located near the airport.

Rent bikes and helmets from several vendors. Note: Helmets are required by law.

Power & Electricity
Power outlets are 120 volts (the exact same as in the United States). No adapters needed for U.S. travelers.
Currency
Taniti uses the U.S. dollar. Many businesses also accept euros and yen. Major credit cards are widely accepted, and local banks facilitate currency exchange.
Safety & Medical
Violent crime is very rare. However, with increasing tourism, please be mindful of pickpocketing and petty crimes. Keep valuables secure.
There is one hospital with many multilingual employees, plus several local clinics.
Language
Many younger Tanitians speak fluent English. In rural areas and among older residents, less English is spoken.
Alcohol Laws
The drinking age is 18 (not strictly enforced). Important: Alcohol is not allowed to be served or sold between midnight and 9:00 a.m.
Holidays
Taniti enjoys a large number of national holidays. Many tourist attractions and restaurants will be closed on these days, so plan accordingly!
